If they are connected, the water will freeze and in turn the connecting pipes and faucets inside the house can freeze and break. Before winter sets in, you can check the faucets outside your homes. If they are showing signs of leaking or dripping, you should call a plumber immediately. Repairs are to be done before temperature falls under 0 degrees.
